3. The course includes: theory focusing on the speech type (reasoned with pro and con arguments, narrative, polemical, rhetorical, stonewalling etc.); interpreting 3-5-minute long speeches of native speakers; interpreting non-native speeches with interferences of the active mother tongue; interpreting different speech types from different professional areas; interpreting in public with an accent on the stance and the other characteristics of the student’s performance; practicing teamwork in a booth with active use of the booth equipment; organizing mock conferences with students or guests to practice consecutive and simultaneous interpreting; simultaneous interpreting of more complex 7-10 minute long speeches while focusing on various specialized areas and using specific knowledge and professional registers on current topics from English into Macedonian and vice versa.

4. The course includes: practical exercises for acquiring the techniques for consecutive interpreting from English into Macedonian and vice versa of more complex 5-minute long speeches on the average (but not longer than 6 minutes) focusing on various specialized areas and using note-taking, specific knowledge and professional registers; practical exercises for acquiring the techniques of simultaneous interpreting from English into Macedonian and vice versa of more complex speeches up to 10 minutes long through teamwork in booths focusing on various specialized areas and using specific knowledge and professional registers; and this final course in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting can also be realized through internship in various institutions, if available.
