Czech Culture and Civilization 1-4

  1. Development of the Czech history: from the beginning of the oral tradition until 9 century. From 9 century, i.e. the arrival of Cyril and Methodius until 14 century. The rule of Karl IV and his descendants.
  2. Hussite wars. The beginning of the 30-year war (1618 – 1648). Recatholization of Czech state and the rule of the Habsburg monarchy until 1918.
  3. The first Republic of Czechoslovakia and the first president Tomas Garrigue Masaryk. Czech state in the period in between World Wars. Prague uprising. 1948 and the events in the 50s of 20th century.
  4. Democratization processes in the 60s of the 20th century known as Prague Spring. 1989 and Velvet Revolution. Cultural/political events until nowadays.
