German Literature 5, 6

  1. The course includes an overview and insight into the developmental of the German lyrics. The poetry of the German Sturm and Drang, Classics, Romantism, Biedermeier, Realism, Symbolism, Imressionism, Expressionism, Political lyrics and other contemporary poetic trends.
  2. The course examines selected works: novels or short stories written by the most important writers of the 20th and 21th century in German language: R. Musil, H. Broch, R.. M. Rilke, M. Frisch, A. Döblin, F. Kafka, A. Schnitzler, G. Grass, K. Wolf and others. Students get familiar with these narrative forms and gain skills for interpretation of the epic literary forms in German language.
