Italian Literature 6 – 20th Century Poetry

The course examines the differentia specifica of the poetic texts. It includes an overview of the Italian poetry tradition, stressing the characteristics of the Modern poetry. It covers the major authors starting from the passage from 19th to 20th century: D’Annunzio and Pascoli, then the Crepuscolarism movement, the Futurism of Marinetti, as well as the solitary case of Dino Campana. The “New Poetry” and the Hermetism: Saba, Ungaretti, Quasimodo, Montale. Poetry in the second half of the 20th century: Pavese, Pasolini, Sanguineti.
