Terminology and Documentation for Translation and Interpreting (English Language B)

The course covers a methodological approach for searching written or electronic materials; it provides methodology for prompt and efficient usage of the Internet, multimedia CD-ROMs, encyclopaedias, technical and general dictionaries, information brochures and publications issued by public and international institutions, databases (domestic and international), specialized materials, tutorials, consultation with experts in order to prepare the students for translation/interpreting in future.  In class, students are asked to elaborate their own terminology glossaries and databases in certain specialized fields (economics, law, politics, medicine, technology etc.), which they are advised to continuously expand in order to be able to use them in practice.
