The Blaze Koneski Faculty of Philology – Skopje will participate in a three-year international cooperation project funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme. The project is titled Developing Applied Foreign Language Skills (DAFLS) and aims to assist our faculty and one of our regional partners – The University of Belgrade Faculty of Philology (Serbia) – in designing and developing a study programme in applied languages at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Not only will the new study programme provide alternative language instruction, but it will also increase our graduates’ employability as the multidisciplinary degrees will include modules in law, economics and project management. The necessity for generating graduates with such specific competences is obvious in the context of North Macedonia’s and Serbia’s European integration processes.
The University of Caen (France), which has forty years’ experience in producing graduates in applied languages with a high level of competence, is coordinating this international project. The European Association for Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA Skopje) is another partner organization.
The online kick-off meeting took place on November 4th and 5th, 2020. The project DAFLS will last until august 2023.
